Place Mat

Well, I finished the Spinning Wheel place mat from Tatting with Visual Patterns by Mary Konior. Of course if I call it a place mat I'll have to make a whole lot more to match. I don't think so. I made so many mistakes in the last few repeats - 'Waar was my kop?' as they say round here: 'Where was my head?' Thankfully the Milford 20 is tightly spun and rings open easily without damage to the thread. I tatted a flower fragment from the same book, but I haven't  yet sewn it to the mat. It could be too much?

  2. Not too much, it's perfect - this is inspiring! You're so fast. Good to see that you like Milford thread too, I must try it again, It was twisty when I used it, but is so easily available that it seems a shame to overlook it.

  4. The place mat looks nice, I don't think it needs any extra decoration as it will be hidden with what ever you put on the mat. I remember this pattern but I haven't tried it.

  5. Lovely! I think the flower fragment is a beautiful touch, one I would never have thought of adding.

  6. Gorgeous ! I like it with the little floral sprig, too. It then becomes a stand-alone piece of artistic display :-) Would look Great on a coffee table !
Maybe I should put it on my to-make list for my dining table centre. Ugh, the wanna-dos keep piling up !

  7. Lovely mat and I think it will look even more beautiful with the little spry on it. I don't think it will be too much at all, it takes the plainness off the middle

  10. It is lovely, and just plain is fine, and if you want another opinion,a little feather stitch on inside white would look good too :)
